Notes

Luger Artillery P08 semi-automatic pistol Lange Pistole 08, German Navy or Artillery issue, WW1 One of a pair obtained by donor from Mr Bert McCulloch who claimed he got them from 2 German officers who were menacing him during WW1. This was possibly 17-128 Sergeant Robert McCulloch, NZ Veterinary Corps, of Te Kuiti. Alternatively it might refer to 11507 Bert McCullough, Auckland Infantry, 12th Reinforcements, whose mother lived at Ranfurly Rd Epsom, or 13-2220 Bertie Everlie McCullough,Auckland Mounted Rifles, who worked for Henderson and Pollard at the time of his enlistment in 1915, and who died in 1923 of wounds received during the war. NB See Note in Arms register- In 1914, the Navy Parabellum was produced with an eight-inch barrel and was known as the Model 08-14 or Model 14. The Model 14 was identical to the 08 except for the longer barrel and a special elevating rear sight mounted on the rear of the barrel. A special holster was issued with the Model 14 that doubled as a shoulder stock.(Wikipedia)
