Português: Pintassilgos Carduelis carduelis parva (Tshusi 1901) Pintassilgo, Carduelis carduelis parva (Tshusi 1901). É a ave mais colorida da avifauna do arquipélago, nidificando apenas nas ilhas da Madeira e do Porto Santo, embora nesta última a nidificação só tenha sido confirmada no começo do séc. XXI. Nas ilhas Desertas também foi detetada a sua presença no ilhéu Chão e no Bugio. Pode ser observada desde áreas à beira-mar até aos pontos mais elevados da Madeira, em especial nas zonas agrícolas, em locais abertos com vegetação rasteira onde predominem gramíneas e cardos, jardins, núcleos de floresta exótica e áreas marginais de floresta indígena. No Porto Santo, concentra-se sobretudo na parte leste da ilha. A subespécie C. c. parva ocorre nos arquipélagos da Macaronésia, no Sul de França, nos Pirenéus, na Península Ibérica, nas ilhas Baleares e no Norte de África, e distingue-se da subespécie nominal em especial por apresentar dimensões mais reduzidas, particularmente as asas e a cauda. Alimenta-se de pequenas sementes, apresentando elevada preferência por sementes de cardos. |
