Summary
[edit]DescriptionPillar Point Bluff facing southwest.jpg | Pillar Point Bluff Trail, Moss Beach, Half Moon Bay, California. Looking southwest from the Pillar Point Bluff Trail, from left to right, the Jean Lauer Trail continues south, intersecting with Ross' Cove Trail. The white radome of the Pillar Point Air Force Station is visible towards the center. In the distance, Maverick’s surf break is located on the edge of the Pillar Point State Marine Conservation Area. The beach below the bluff is part of the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve. The bluff is classified as a coastal scrub habitat, and it is common to see cottontail rabbits on the trails. In the spring, gray whales are visible, while in the summer and fall, humpback whales can be spotted. To the right of the image, Frenchman’s Reef Trail will take hikers in either direction along the bluff. |
