Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The pillars of stone roped off in the far right background of the image mark the foundation of the cabin Henry David Thoreau built and lived in. During this time he wrote several essays that would later influence the likes of Gandhi and Martin Luther King Junior. Early fans of Thoreau's work visited this site over a century ago and brought rocks to mark the spot. That tradition continues on to this day, as you can see in the picture - people from all over the world come to Walden Pond and leave rocks of their own.

This is an image of a place or building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the United States of America. Its reference number is 66000790.
