Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_69702_Copy of DSC_9538.JPG Notes: כנסיית המשיח קרויה גם quotכנסיית עמנואלquot היא כנסייה אנגליקנית בכיכר עומר אבן אל ח39טאב ליד הרובע הארמני בירושלים מול מגדל דוד. היא הייתה הכנסייה הפרוטסטנטית הראשונה במזרח התיכון והכנסייה הגדולה הראשונה שהוקמה בארץ ישראל מאז יציאת הצלבנים מהארץ. שיטות הבנייה של הכנסייה היוו תקדים לפיו נבנו מבני ציבור וכנסיות רבות בירושלים בעשרות השנים שלאחר חנוכתה בראשית 1849. הכנסייה שמקורותיה מיסיונרים מובהקים שייכת כיום לחלק מהפלג האנגליקני-אוונגליסטי המקורב לחוגי נוצרים ידידי ישראל.ויקיפדיה
