Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_64291_IMG_20170426_170840.jpg Notes: תושבי המושבה ראשון לציון שנוסדה ב 1882לא הצליחו בגידול תבואה ובענפים חקלאיים אחרים. הם הצליחו לגדל גפנים. לא היה ביקוש רב לענבים ולכן חשבו על הפקת יין בהתחלה יין לקידוש. כסף לא היה והם פנו לברון רוטשילד שעזר בהקמת היקב. בניית היקב בראשון לציון החלה בשנת 1889 ובציר ראשון הוכנס בשנת 1890. היקב ייצא יינות בבקבוקים סגורים וחתומים מסיבות כשרות בהתחלה לפולין ורוסיה. בתערוכה בגרמניה ב 1896 רצו אנשי היקב להתגאות כיקב ותיק יחסית והציגו את שנת היווסדו כשנת 1882 השנה בה נוסדה ראשון לציון.
