Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_63422_IMG_20200117_162918.jpg Notes: קומראן, יישובם העיקרי של אנשי כת ים המלח בתקופת בית שני (אולי האיסיים?). בשנת 1946 נחשפו באקראי במערה סמוכה, על ידי נער בדואי, כדי חרס ובתוכם כתבי יד, תגלית שהובילה לגילוי כ 900 כתבי יד נוספים במערות סמוכות, כחלק מתגלית מגילות ים המלח, המתוארכות ע”י החוקרים למאה השנייה לפנה”ס.
