Description

Heading on the coach to the centre of Naples.

Going past <a href="http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piazza_Dante_(Napoli)" rel="noreferrer nofollow">Piazza Dante Alighieri</a> on Via Toledo.

I think I missed a statue from the coach.

Building behind is the Convitto Nazionale Vittorio Emanuele (national boarding school of Vittorio Emanuele II) since 1861.

The building, with two features curved wings, seen in the presence of twenty-six high statues representing the virtues of King Charles III of Bourbon (three of Giuseppe Sanmartino , other sculptors of Carrara), and the center of a niche that was supposed to host an equestrian statue the sovereign (which was never built), and a clock tower, of a later period.

Since 1843 the central niche at the entrance to the boarding school of the Jesuits, became in 1861 the national Boarding School Vittorio Emanuele II , housed in the rooms of the convent of San Sebastiano and of which you can still see the two cloisters (the dome of the church collapsed in May 1941 ), the smallest and oldest is a rare example of Romanesque and Gothic in Naples, the largest structures preserves the sixteenth century.

A market was on that day.
