English: This picture is described as follows:
  • Introductory description: King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand entered and stayed in the monkhood for 15 days from Monday, 22 October 2499 BE (1956 CE), to Monday, 5 November 2499 BE (1956 CE), during which he was known as the priest Bhumibala (according to his official name card) or Bhumibalo (according to popular sources).
  • Specific description: His mother, Princess Sangwan, presented him with an alms bowl during his ordination ceremony, held at the ubosot hall of the Temple of the Emerald Buddha during his ordination ceremony on 22 October 2499 BE (1956 CE).
