Français : Photographie du Phare du bout du monde, situé à la Pointe des Minimes, à La Rochelle, en Charente-Maritime, et inauguré le 1er janvier 2000. C'est la réplique à l'identique du célèbre Phare du bout du monde, érigé sur un promontoire rocheux à 70 mètres au-dessus du niveau de la mer, sur l'île des États au large du Cap Horn en 1884 et qui inspira Jules Verne pour son roman Le Phare du bout du monde, édité en 1905, peu après sa mort. C'est un phare en bois de forme hexadécagonale et projetant la lumière produite par 7 lampes fonctionnant à l'huile de colza sur deux côtés, à travers de gros cristaux. Le faisceau a une portée de 26 km sur un angle de 93°. |
