Introduced, yearlong-green, perennial, large, tufted grass. Stems are rounded, up to 1.5 m tall and often reddish at their base. A native of the Mediterranean, it is sown in the Upper Hunter and further south; naturalised along roadsides. Prefers more fertile soils. Waterlogging and frost tolerant, but most varieties are sensitive to soil acidity and aluminium. |
