The four quarters represent (clockwise from top left): Invicta, the emblem of Kent The family coat of arms of the Pett Family, granted in 1583 Day and night, as a representation of daylight saving, a cause championed by local resident William Willett. An Elizabethan galleon, built at Deptford by William Pett, using Oak from Petts Wood There is a matching sign in Station Square, the other side of the railway. |
