Summary

[edit]
Description
English: In the South American country of w:Peru, terraced farming has for centuries been a popular method to maximize potential agricultural land on the steep Andean slopes. Such methods are also utilized widely in South-East Asia. Here, just outside w:Arequipa, both pastoral and arable farming is taking place. The rich volcanic soil makes for excellent growing conditions for crops such as potato, marrow and tomato, all of which can be seen here recently sown.
