Description
English: Plate 29 from: Perris, William. Maps of the City of New-York. Volume 3. (New York: William Perris, 1853)
  • The Apollo Rooms, on Broadway between Lispenard and Walker Streets, were the site of the first concert by the Philharmonic Society of New York, known today as the New York Philharmonic. The concert took place on December 7, 1842.
  • The Tombs, 1838–1902, New York City Halls of Justice and House of Detention (lower right corner).
  • New York and Harlem and New York and New Haven Railroad passenger and freight depots.
    • Broadway, Canal and Walker Streets, and Cortlandt Alley
    • White, Franklin, Centre, and Elm (later called Lafayette) Streets, replaced by the1892 Manhattan Criminal Courts Building (New York City Criminal Courts Building).
