Summary
[edit]DescriptionPerpignan,cathédrale,intérieur132 Magrana12.jpg |
Interlingue: Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales, North Catalonia, Roussillon, France), Saint-Jean-Baptiste cathedral, in the southern apsidiole Virgin to the Magrana reredo (in reference to Mystery Play of Elche rather than to Pomegranate), carved at the end of the 15th century, which makes it the oldest altarpiece in the cathedral, in Flamboyant Gothic style. It comes from the former Romanesque church of Saint-Jean-le-Vieux located right next to the cathedral. The painter of the little paintings in the upper and right panels is the same as that of the organ shutters painted in 1504. |
