本示範圖片為男性陰莖鬆弛與勃起外觀，配合者為Taiwan籍亞洲人(23歲)。

男性陰莖的受刺激後，在短時間內鬆弛開來，快速地充血，將血液灌注到海綿體內的靜脈血管直到壓力上升到一定的限度才停止。這時充滿血液的陰莖海綿體會將陰莖撐起，令陰莖變硬變長，這時，勃起的陰莖就可以較方便進行性行為。
English: Penile erection is a physiological phenomenon where the penis becomes enlarged and firm. Penile erection is the result of a complex interaction of psychological, neural, vascular and endocrine factors, and is usually, though not exclusively, associated with sexual arousal or sexual attraction. The angle of an erect penis varies from pointing downwards, upwards, sideways, or may bend.
