English: Extract of the map seen here: : Carta Esferica de una Parte de la Costa Setentrional y Meridional de la Isla de Cuba…, 1834; This map was ordered by Don Ramon Gil de la Cuadra, head of the Spanish mapping agency Direccion Hidrografica, and made by a party under the command of the Spanish mariner Angel Laborde y Navarro (Cádiz, Aug. 2, 1772 - La Habana, Apr. 4, 1834). It was published in 1837 and updated in 1854. It gives depth soundings and the lighthouses are highlighted in red or yellow (here the Cabo San Antonio Lighthouse in yellow). |
