Summary
[edit]DescriptionPemberton House.jpg | Pemberton House, at 318 Chestnut Street, between 3rd and 4th Streets in Philadelphia, is part of the Independence National Historical Park. The original Georgian-style mansion was built in 1774 for Joseph Pemberton, a Quaker merchant, who bought the property from the Carpenters' Company. This recreated mansion was built in 1967. Formerly used as a museum for history of the United States Army and Navy, the house is today the National Park's bookstore. (Source: "Pemberton House" on ushistory.org) |
