Description
The Danish naval officer Emil Francois Krieger commissioned Køyer to make portraits of his two young sons in 1875. Oscar Johannes (1856-1928) apparently gave it to his son, Axel Krieger, who owned it in 1923, when Christensen made a list of Krøyer's paintings. The lot at the auction consisted of both portraits.
