Description
Català: Patent realitzada per Frank D. Williams en què observem els diferents passos del procés Williams. En la figura 1 veiem la reproducció d'un fotograma negatiu en blanc amb la silueta d'un nen de color negre; això seria equivalent al "holdout matte". En la figura 2 veiem la còpia inversa, amb el fons negre i la figura del nen blanca; com hauria de ser el "cover matte". En la figura 3 es superposa el negatiu de la figura 1 sobre una altra pel·lícula sense revelar, que funcionarà de fons, i s'imprimeix. En la figura 4 veiem el resultat final, on s'ha aplicat també el "cover matte" (figura 2) per emmascarar el fons, ja imprès, i revelar l'acció del personatge en el buit deixat anteriorment (figura 3).
