Introduced, warm-season, perennial, mat-forming grass, 20-80 cm tall and with stolons. A native of tropical America, it is most abundant on the far North Coast, but found in high rainfall areas as far south as Port Macquarie. A weed of cultivated and disturbed areas (e.g. pastures, plantations, parks, roadsides and riparian zones). Also planted as a lawn species. |
