Summary
[edit]DescriptionParkland drive - geograph.org.uk - 1523622.jpg |
English: Parkland drive Weston Park extends to about 450 ha / 1000 acres. It represents the remains of a medieval deer park that was landscaped by Lancelot Capability Brown in the 1760s. The park still has many of the trees that were planted to Browns designs. These were supplemented in the mid C20th by commercial plantings at the behest of the 6th Earl ,who was an avid forester. As those plantations mature and are cropped they are being replaced in a way that will overtime perpetuate the appearance of the landscaped park. |
