Paoay Church in Ilocos Norte, Philippines

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Completed in 1710, Paoay Church is famous for its distinct architecture, highlighted by the enormous buttresses on the sides and back of the building. The church is a prime example of earthquake baroque architecture, the Philippine interpretation of the European Baroque adapted to the country's seismic condition. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993, Paoay Church is one of the best examples of Baroque churches in the Philippines.
