Goldie for the painting "The Arrival of the Maoris" 1901 (exhibited 1899.) wooden palette with oil paint; broken markings- inscribed by artist recto in the artist's hand in white- 'To my friend Bayliss - with best wishes - from - CF Goldie - Sept 1929' verso in the artists hand in black- 'This palette was used in the painting of Arrival of the Maoris 1901 - CF Goldie - It was also used on the stage by WS Percy - in the Toreodor where it unfortunately came to grief - CFG'
