Description

NPS/Patrick Myers Cranes return to wetlands throughout the San Luis Valley each evening, including wetlands in and near Great Sand Dunes National Park. The most accessible location to see them is San Luis Lakes State Wildlife Area, adjacent to the national park. Drive around the large lake to the north side, park and walk along the gravel road to the wetlands of the wildlife area:
