In addition to standing byfor emergencies, the four steam plants lo-cated in San Francisco, Oakland and Sacra-mento, in the course of a year, generate avery sizable block of power for delivery intothe local systems at 11,000 volts. This ismingled with power from other sources andsent out through the local substations intothe delivery lines.
