Views of the interior of the sugar factory. Reading downward, these are: Boiler room; auxiliary pump room; centrifugal station; new vacuum pan, capacity fifty tons of sugar every two hours. Pacific Service jVIag.\zine 79 sent through large revolving drums,through which is drawn a strong cur-rent of very hot air which takes out thelast of the moisture in the sugar, deliver-ing the dry grains to the packing roomwith not more than three one-hundredthsof one per cent of moisture. In thepacking-room, the sugar is sent overscreening devices which eliminate anylumps that may have been formed in thecentrifugals, also eliminating any dustthat may have ac-cumulated after thesugar is dried, and,at the same time,sort the grains ac- ;cording to size tomeet the market de-mand. These grainsare then packed invarious kinds andsizes of containers,from 2-lb. cottonbags and 2-lb. car-tons to 100-lb. bagsand 350-lb. barrels.
