English: SS Persic, built in 1899 and scrapped in 1927. Ceramic, of the White Star Line, was built in 1913 and was active on the Australia route. In 1934 Ceramic was sold to Shaw, Savill & Albion Line. In 1942 she was en route to Australia when a German U-boat torpedoed her in the Atlantic. Of 656 people aboard, only one survived. |
