Description
English: Gates in the arcade of the Oviatt Building, 617 S. Olive Street, Los Angeles. This Art Deco building was completed in 1928 by the architectural firm of Walker and Eisen to house James Zera Oviatt's clothing store. The Oviatt Building is listed on the National Register for Historic Places and is a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument. The Oviatt Building may have been Raymond Chandler's inspiration for the Treloar Building in The Lady of the Lake.
