Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Overmills Bridge The bridge is named after the 2 mills that existed here. The original Over Mill was established as a grain mill in the 13th century. A waulk mill was added in 1761 for the fulling, or beating, of cloth. The Over Mill was the last working grain mill on the River Ayr, eventually closing in the early 1960s. The buildings were demolished in 1963. (Source: "The River Ayr Way", by Dane Love.)
