Summary
[edit]DescriptionOuidah map (1926).png |
English: 1926 basic city map of Ouidah, French Dahomey (now Republic of Benin). The area occupied by the Portuguese fort (Forte de São João de Ajudá) is shown in pink. The fort remained an enclave under Portuguese sovereignty until 1961.
The location of the former British and French forts, both torn down by then, is also indicated (color and flags added later). The Gulf of Guinea would be at the bottom of the map. |
