Lawrence, p. 135 (reprinted from the Annals of the Lyceum of NaturalHistory in New York, vol. ix. April 1868) :— 448. Chlorcenas suBViNACEA, sp. n. Male. Head, neck, and under plumage light purplish vinaceous, darkeron the abdomen and sides; the throat paler, and of a fulvous tinge; back,wing-coverts, and rump brownish cinnamon; tail of a fine dark brown,slightly purplish, except the two central feathers, which are rather lighterin colour and incline to olivaceous brown; the upper tail-coverts are of thesame colour as the central tail-feathers; the quills are dark brown, theprimaries blackish on the outer webs, which are narrowly margined withpale cinnamon, the inner webs of the quill-feathers are broadly marked withdull pale cinnamon to near their ends ; the under wing-covert
