Русский: Серебряный набор из шейкера и шести стаканчиков. Экспонат Президентской библиотеки-музея Франклина Рузвельта. English: Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum: "Silver cocktail set with an oriental theme. Set consists of a cocktail shaker and six cups. Each piece has bamboo motif and Chinese or Japanese characters appear on the bottoms. Pieces are in a fitted maroon leather box with blue velvet lining.
According to Anna Roosevelt Halsted, FDR used this set both at the White House, and at Hyde Park. FDR had a long-standing practice of hosting an evening cocktail hour in the White House residence during his presidency. The cocktail hour was a time when he could cast aside the burdens of office at the end of the day and relax with close friends and/or family. Discussion of politics or government policy was banned. FDR always mixed the drinks at this event". |
