Orange Caloplaca lichen cover this rock at Coles Bay, Freycinet Peninsula, Tasmania. I believe this is the same lichen as Bay of Fires. This lichen is in the Caloplaca genus but I do not know the species. There is more about this species at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caloplaca Here is a brief article on complexity of lichens from the Tasmanian museum Thanks to Nuytsia@Tas for help in figuring out the genus - it had me stumped.
