[edit]DescriptionOram Place, Rotherhithe, London, SE16 - geograph.org.uk - 1549445.jpg |
English: Oram Place, Rotherhithe, London, SE16 Off Brunel Road behind the building at the junction with Rupack Street. Image shows all that remains, although it was never a long road. Named after Colonel Robert Oram who, on his retirement from the army, became the chairman of the Port of London Authority Mechanical Equipment Committee. He retired in 1912 as the Superintendant of Surrey Commercial Docks. In his time with the PLA he did a great deal of work that benefited the working practices of dockers. |
