10* 138 THE GYNECOLOGICAL EXAMINATION. Before closing this subject I wish to urge the importance of minuter inves-tigations, so as to bring out prominently the individual features. To the un-scientific surgeon all cases are roughly classified under a few heads; one ovarian tumor is the sameas another, except in size,and a prolapsus is a pro-lapsus, and nothing more.A closer scrutiny, however,will always bring out an in-finite variety of individualdifferences, and attentionto these, in time serves toshed light upon the causesof disease.
