Command Sgt. Maj. Russell Reimers, command sergeant major of 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, assists Sgt. 1st Class Jose (Joe) Mendez, a Wounded Warrior, to a CH-47 Chinook helicopter at Camp Nathan Smith, Afghanistan, Feb. 27, for Operation Proper Exit II. Operation Proper Exit is an opportunity for Wounded Warriors to come back to theater in uniform and leave on their own terms in order to help the healing process. 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division
