English: The Royal Theatre preparing for Opening Night, Nov. 23, 1948.

Co-owners Bill Boardman and Horace Williams at left. The Royal Theatre staff on the right. Front row: Elois Coley, Alberta Hollins, Naomi Campbell. Back row: C. L. Lee, Landrus Clark, Napoleon Payne, James Sirmans. It was a 700-seat movie theater in a quonset hut building, serving the local African American community in "The Deuces" area of St. Petersburg, Florida.
