Nederlands: Bijvoegsel behoorende bij de "Graafschapbode" van vrijdag 2 april 1915 (36e Jaargang, Nummer 52), tevens gepubliceerd in de "Berkelbode" en "Zevenaarsche en Lathumsche Courant" van identieke datum. Het artikel leest:
Het Twente-Rijnkanaal.
Bij dit nummer vinden onze lezers een kaart van het ontworpen Twente-Rijnkanaal, zooals het is opgemaakt door het ingenieursbureau Van Hasselt & De Koning te Nijmegen. Een blik op deze kaart is voldoende om het groote belang eener dergelijke verbinding in te zien.
Wanneer het kanaal eens gegraven zal zijn zooals de roode lijn aanwijst, dan krijgt de geheele welvarende fabrieksstreek van Almelo-Enschede en Hengelo en onze in opkomst zijnde Achterhoek een prachtige waterweg naar Rotterdam.
Als aanvulling van het waterleidingplan en de electriciteitsvoorziening zal dit kanaal wonderen doen om de industrie een hooge vlucht te doen nemen. Want een directe waterweg naar Rotterdam is als Dritte im Bunde onmisbaar.
We kunnen slechts hopen, dat de Staatscommissie, aan wie de aanhangige vier kanaalplannen, respectievelijk Zwolle, Deventer, Zutphen en Arnhem tot eindpunt hebben, ter onderzoek zijn aangeboden, ten slotte haar keuze laat vallen op het Twente-Rijnkanaal.
De voorgenoemde Staatscommissie koos niet voor een verbinding met Arnhem (ofwel Twente-Rijnkanaal), maar voor een verbinding met Zutphen, te weten het Twentekanaal.

The Twente-Rhine canal.
Included with this issue, our readers will find a map of the Twente-Rhine canal, designed by engineering firm Van Hasselt & De Koning from Nijmegen.
A single glance at the map is sufficient to see the great benefit such a connection will have.
When the canal will be dug as the red line indicates, the entirety of the industrial region of Almelo-Enschede and Hengelo and our Achterhoek, which is developing itself as we speak, will be connected to Rotterdam via a magnificent waterway.
In addition to the waterworks plan and electrical supply, this canal will enact wonders to send the industrialisation sky high, because a direct connection via water to Rotterdam is as Dritte im Bunde irreplaceable.
We can only hope that the State Commission, to whom the four canal-plans, which respectively have Zwolle, Deventer, Zutphen and Arnhem as their final destination, have been offered, will let her preference fall on the Twente-Rijnkanaal.
The State Commission mentioned in the article did not choose for a connection to Arnhem, i.e. the Twente-Rijnkanaal, but chose a connection to Zutphen instead. This would become the Twentekanaal.
