[edit]DescriptionOn eclipse watch, at NSF and elsewhere (36973119770).jpg |
In Arlington, Virginia, where NSF has its headquarters, staff gathered to witness the Great American Solar Eclipse on Aug. 21, 2017. Many wore the NSF-funded National Solar Observatory eclipse glasses. In Arlington, the eclipse reached almost 82 percent around 2:42 p.m., local time. The gathering served to mark another event as well -- the unofficial farewell to the agency’s Arlington building; between August and September, NSF is relocating to Alexandria, Virginia. The move will be complete by October. Credit: Ellen Weir, NSF |
