Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This image of original size 4096x4096 contains all 256x256x256 colours in the RGB spectrum once and once only.

Two poles are located symmetrically with respect to the centre of the image, one to its left and the other to its right.

Each pixel in the image has a range and an angle.

The range is the square distance from the left pole divided by the linear distance from the right pole.

The angle is with respect to the centre of the image and is positive irrespective of whether it is clockwise or anti-clockwise.

The red component varies monotonically with the range.

Within each constant red area, the green component varies monotonically with the angle ranking within that area.

Within each constant red and green area, the blue component varies monotonically with the composite range and angle ranking within that area. Increase and decrease of both range and angle alternate to make patterns wider and transitions across areas smoother.

This image was originally posted to Flickr by Fulvio Baccaglini at https://flickr.com/photos/185533101@N05/49513457148. It was reviewed on 2024-04-22 14:40:41 by FlickreviewR 2, who found it to be licensed under the terms of the cc-zero, which is compatible with the Commons. It is, however, not the same license as given above, and it is unknown whether that license ever was valid.
Public domain
This work has been released into the public domain by the author on Flickr, where the author has declared it as a "Public Domain Work" and tagged it with the Creative Commons Public Domain Mark.
Public domain
The Public Domain Mark (PDM) is not a copyright license, but a symbol used to indicate that a work is in the public domain. When it is applied by the author or the copyright holder, community consensus has decided such works as being public domain in the US and countries where it is legally possible to release own work to the public domain. In the countries where this is not possible, the copyright status of the work remains undetermined.
If a file is tagged with Public Domain Mark by someone other than the author or the copyright holder, a more specific copyright tag such as one found at Commons:Copyright tags/General public domain must be applied. If this is your own work, please use {{Cc-zero}} instead.
