| Description |
English: Old jetty, Amble. Of the long inner jetty shown on the 1:50000 map, very little remains besides a long double row of decaying wooden piles. At low tide the entire area beyond the sea kayakers is an exposed beach, whilst at higher tides, with a big swell in the North Sea, just enough of the wave energy enters Amble harbour to make this a brilliant place for nervous kayakers to learn surfing. This group have slightly calmer conditions and are on their way out to Coquet Island to see the seals - even better on a sunny day 1190323 |
