Description
English: NAVAL STATION ROTA, Spain (Apr. 10, 2024) U.S. Navy Sailors from Port Operations on Naval Station Rota clean up a simulated oil spill aboard a rapid-response skimmer boat in the Bay of Cádiz, Spain, Apr. 10, 2024. Oil spill response training is conducted regularly to enhance responders’ ability to rapidly control, contain, and cleanup an oil spill and minimize its impact on operations and the environment. NAVSTA Rota provides U.S, NATO and allied forces a strategic hub for operations in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. NAVSTA Rota is a force multiplier, capable of promptly deploying and supporting combat-ready forces through land, air and sea, enabling warfighters and their families, sustaining the fleet and fostering the U.S. and Spanish partnership.
