English: Hagia Sophia located in the old part of the town committed to Christ as Divine Wisdom ie Ss. Sofia, the courtyard colonnade and an important place for cultural events like concerts and plays, remains of the old amphitheater especially given historical note
Македонски: Црквата Свeта Софија е подигната по големата мисија на Св. Кирил и Методиј врз темелите на стара сакрална градба како катедрала уште во времето на цар Самуил, кој кон крајот на X век својата престолнина ја пренел од Преспа во Охрид обновена за време на архиепископот Лав(1035 до 1056 година) овој црковен поглавар станал ктитор на сликарската декорација на Света Софија , црквата имала само една главна купола, а во XIV век било изградено раскошното надоврешно предворје по својата првобитна форма таа им припаѓала на трокорабни базилики со трансепт, купола и галерии на бочните бродови. Уште во XI век имала и припрата, а над северното и јужното одделение на олтарот биле формирани посебни капели. |
