Description

Moneda en oro probablemente acuñada en Berytos (Beirut, Líbano) y datada en el periodo 246-221 a.C.

De Wikipedia: Berenice II (h. 269-221 a.C.) fue hija del rey Magas de Cirene y de Apama, hija de Antíoco I Sóter. Su matrimonio con Ptolomeo III Evergetes, tercer gobernante de la Dinastía Ptolemaica del Antiguo Egipto, posibilitó la re-anexión de Cirene a Egipto. Berenice II fue la primera reina del Egipto ptolemaico que hizo acuñar monedas con su efigie. Pieza cedida por el Museo Arqueológico Nacional, Madrid.
