Summary
[edit]DescriptionONI.88.11.5.jpg |
English: Warsaw, residential building. Built late 19th c. to host Russian cavalry units; internal staircase is allegedly wide enough for the horses to climb the upper floor, compare here. Until 1915 it served as officers' barracks of (Grodno Hussars Life-Guard Regiment). In 1919-1939 it served as barracks of 1. Pułk Szwoleżerów Józefa Piłsudskiego (1. Chevau-léger Regiment of Jozef Pilsudski). Detailed discussion on various cavalry barracks in the area here Niewielu nawet warszawian zna tę dzielnicę miasta. - Kurjer Warszawski 18 (30 new style).04.1898, p. 2 |
