Summary

Description
English: It doesn't take much to get the super nerd in me excited. Take for example this simple pitot tube. Its pretty simple really, just a stick with a few holes in it. But its attached to an SR-71, which is about the most badass thing a tube can be attached to. The internet is a better source for factoids than I, but for those who don't know, the SR71 is (as far as I know) the fastest manned aircraft ever flown, and it was built decades ago! They built this thing not even knowning about high speed aerodynamic phenomenon, but it worked! The thing got so hot in flight that when the crew landed, it took 30 min for the plane to reach temperatures that anyone could approach, so the crew just had to sit in the cockpit. This thing is ridiculous! And so cool to see in person. Might have to say my visit to the Dulles Air and Space Museum was the highlight of my months spent on the east coast this summer. So cool!
