Summary
[edit]DescriptionNuthurst Primary School, West Sussex, England - 19th century.jpg |
English: St Andrew's Primary School on Nuthurst Street looking north in Nuthurst, West Sussex, England. The school was built as a National School in 1856 on the site of a previous school established in 1824. This new mixed school, shown here, was of one classroom for 76 pupils, and a teacher's house. The school was extended at the rear in 1961. Despite its age, the school is unlisted. The postcard photograph is from the second half of the 19th century, with no indication of photographer or publisher. The edges of the card have been trimmed of damage. |
