Applicators, that is^splicasmall rods for the carrying of cotton charged withsome medicament to the neck or body of theuterus, may be of metal, rubber, or wood. A veryconvenient and inexpensive applicator for hospitaluse is the wooden splint, about six inches long, Fig. 57.
