Dalkey's main street

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Although Dalkey's main street has buildings from the 10th century much of Castle Street dates from the early 19th century.

The town grew considerably after the extension of the Kingstown railway line.

The quoins arranged alternately large and small are complimented by a similar effect to the masonry dressing around the arch of the access laneway. The edges of the building are emphasized bringing visual contrast, lending a look of power, prestige, and permanence.
